Teresa Mary (zito) Massaro

Teresa Mary (Zito) Massaro, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Raymond Joseph Massaro, passed away, Saturday, September 5, 2009). She was born in Hartford the daughter of the late Dominic Zito and Rose (Morena) Zito. Teresa was a graduate of Hartford Public High School and was employed by the Underwood Typewriter Company. Teresa retired in 1993 from Hartford Hospital as a billing supervisor after 27 years of employment. She was also a member of the AARP 697 of Newington. Teresa was an avid Yankees fan and was known for her keen sense of style and dress. Teresa leaves behind many close friends and extended family members to whom she was exceptionally loyal, especially her dear friends: Camille, Andrew, Rosemary and Michael Tyskiewicz. Also close to her were her friends: Julia, Connie, Viola and Tina. Teresa's family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Cedar Mountain Commons, Dr. Paul Dekker, the staff at Hartford Hospital and the VNA of Hartford. Funeral services will leave Thursday, September 10 at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Patrick St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St., Hartford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Windsor Locks. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
