

Ugo C. DiGrazia, Sr. 84, of Wethersfield, loving husband of Maria Luisa (Lombardo) DiGrazia for 58 years, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born September 24, 1931 in Catania, Sicily and was the son of the late Giovanni and Antonina (Addia) DiGrazia. When in Italy as a young man, he served in the Italian Army Air Force as an air traffic controller. Ugo came to the United States in 1961 with his family, and later, in 1974, he founded and operated Ugo DiGrazia Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. of Hartford. His dedicated work ethic, compassion and love for his customers will always be remembered. He was recognized by FAMA as Businessman of the Year and received many accolades in the industry for his longtime dedication and service to the Greater Hartford community. Ugo enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends where his lively personality and incredible sense of humor always made it a memorable time. His noble nature, together with integrity and respect were the attributes that made him so unique and special. He will be missed dearly by his family and many friends. He was sadly predeceased by his daughter, Antonina DiGrazia-Bello. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Gianpaolo DiGrazia of Hartford and Ugo DiGrazia, Jr. of Rocky Hill; two sisters, Francesca DiGrazia Musumeci and Aurora DiGrazia, a brother, Giampaolo DiGrazia and wife, Francesca all of Catania, Sicily, Arleta Kordylewska, who was like a daughter; his son-in-law, Miguel Bello; adored grandchildren, Maria Luisa Bello, Michael Bello, Martina DiGrazia and Ivana DiGrazia; as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins, in the U.S., Venezuela and Italy. An acknowledgement to Richard Cordiliko and Andrew Ruocco, dedicated and loyal employees, for their support over the many years. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Hartford Hospital for the care, love and compassion shown to Ugo, especially Dr. Stephen Weinreb for his genuine personal concern and care. The family also wishes to thank Ugo's caregivers, Rosa Hurtado and Martha Caceres. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Saturday prior to the Mass, from 8:30-11:30 a.m., at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
