

Vincent J. Fiume, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Florence (Bell) Fiume, died Wednesday, (June 10, 2009) at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Concetta (DiNatale) Fiume and lived in Wethersfield for most of his life. He was a retired plastering mason for Local #1. He was World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Department of American Legion Headquarters Post and the Knights of Columbus in Newington. He is survived by two children: his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent J. Fiume, Jr. and Margaret Fiume of Wethersfield; his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Lenny Lichanec of Willington; his sister, Josephine Tabshey of Rocky Hill; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Carlson and his wife Marie of Farmington, Andrea Baldoni of Rockville, Rick Baldoni of Wethersfield, Danny Lichanec of Willington and Lisa Lichanec of Bennington, VT; and three sisters-in-law, Helen Pandolfe, Amelia Dombrowski and Evelyn Lucerini. He was predeceased by his brother Emilio. The funeral is Monday at 10 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
