

Vittorio “Victor” Vallera, 80, of Hobe Sound, FL, and formerly of Marlborough, CT, beloved husband for 16 years of Patricia Schmitt Vallera, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, May 27, 2024. Born on June 22, 1943, in Pratola Peligna, province of Aquila, Italy, he was the son of the late Guerino and Emilia (Santilli) Vallera.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Victor will be forever missed by his devoted wife Patti; four children, Julia Vallera and her partner Kelsey Stavseth of St. Johnsbury, VT, Christopher Vallera and his wife Samantha of Marlborough, Walter Schmitt and his wife Gladys of Hartford, and Warren Schmitt and his partner Sheryl Brothers of Wethersfield and his six adored grandchildren, Liam and Abigail Vallera, Luca Vallera-Stavseth, Priscilla (Jonathan) Arguello, Paige Schmitt and Matthew Brothers.
Victor is also survived by two brothers, Frederico “Fred” Vallera and wife Theresa and Aldo Vallera and wife Nina; three sisters, Irma Galante, Lina Vuoto and husband Isidoro, Olvea DiCristofaro; sister-in-law, Nella Vallera, and many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Guido Vallera, Giulio Vallera, Sr. and wife Maureen, Cesidio Vallera and wife Emilienne; two brothers-in-law, Antonio Galante and Sante DiCristofaro; his daughter, Wanda Schmitt; and his nephew, Giulio Vallera, Jr.
Victor came to the U.S. in 1960. A loving and giving man, Victor’s biggest treasure was time spent with his family. Victor loved many sports, but his favorite was bocce. During his retirement in Florida, he was active in both bocce and golf. Victor was also a member of the Pratolana M.B. Society of Hartford. He retired as a building inspector for the town of Rocky Hill.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 7 from 10-11 a.m., concluding with a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
