W. Scott Schaeffer

W. Scott Schaeffer, 43, of Wethersfield, died on Tuesday, (January 6, 2009) with his caring mother by his side. He was born on September 9, 1965 in Hartford, son of Marlene Frances (Maher) Schaeffer of Wethersfield and Walter Albert Schaeffer of Florida. Scott was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, Class of 1984, and spent most of his life in Wethersfield. He was a printer at Curtis 1000 in Newington for over 10 years. He was instrumental in the formation of the Wethersfield Police Explorers and was one of the youngest members of the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance Company. He was also one of the earliest members of Public Access (Channel 32) Television in Wethersfield and had his own talk show. Besides his parents, Scott is survived by the love of his life, his daughter, Cari Nicole Schaeffer of Bristol, his brother William D. Schaeffer, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Scott is also survived by the mother of his daughter, Vicki (Dumont) Schaeffer of Bristol. He was predeceased by his best friend and mentor Dee Saccente. Funeral services will be private and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
