William “Bill” N. Aronne, 89, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 57 years of the late Rita (Skowronek) Aronne, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born in Hartford on December 7, 1935, he was one of 14 children of the late Michael and Angelina (Cersosimo) Aronne. Bill worked for many years for the CT Department of Transportation, retiring in 1990 as a Mail Room Supervisor. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and WWE.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bill will be forever missed by his two children, Joseph A. Aronne and wife Charlene of Rocky Hill and Robin A. O’Mara and husband John of Newington; four adored grandchildren, Alexis R. Aronne, Andrew M. Aronne, John J. O’Mara, III and Jayme M. O’Mara and three cherished great-grandchildren, Owen Jackson, Ryan Jackson, and John J. O’Mara IV. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by his siblings. Special thanks to the Avery Heights Memory Care and Assisted Living Staff.
The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 12 p.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
