

Comeau, Arnold Joseph – 78 of Weymouth, passed away with family at his side on June 2, 2012 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Veteran’s Unit, Middleton. Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Leo and Annabelle (Sprague) Comeau. At the age of 18, Arnold enlisted in the army. Warrant Officer Comeau served in Korea, Indo-China, Germany and Cyprus during his 22 years with the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was a Life Member and past President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #67, Weymouth. Arnold was employed with Canada Post for 26 years, finishing his career as the Assistant Postmaster, Weymouth. In 1970, Arnold purchased the Goodwin Hotel and along with his family has operated the business for over 42 years. He enjoyed his daily walks, golf, time at the cottage, travelling, visits with his grandchildren and watching his beloved Toronto Blue Jays. Arnold is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia, daughter, Deborah (David) Eisenhauer, Hammonds Plains, sons, Brian and Bruce, Weymouth, grandchildren, Sarah, Justin and Connor, sisters, Edna (James Theriault), Weymouth, Grace Montague, Halifax, nieces, Sheila, Darlene, Rae-Anne and nephew, Leonard. Arnold was predeceased by brother, Lester. Visitation 7-9pm, Thursday June 7th from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Weymouth North (245-2525) with Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service at 8pm. Funeral Mass, Friday June 8th in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Father Keith Billard presiding. Interment in Parish Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff for the care Arnold received during his stay at the DVA unit in Middleton. Family flowers only.
