Harriett Florence Brittain

Harriett "Florence" Brittain – Age 78 of Hassett, Digby Co., passed away June 12th, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Florence was the last of her immediate family. Born in Brighton, Digby County, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Catherine (Bunker) Sullivan. Florence loved her family, flowers and music, especially when the jam sessions took place at her home. She was an avid reader who enjoyed company, she always had the teapot on and her arms open for a hug. Florence is survived by her children, Cathy (Donnie) Jubin, Weymouth; Stanley, Weymouth; William (Trudy), Plympton; Clarence (Bernadette), Hassett; Mary Brittain, Sundre, Alt; Patrick (Floreen), Weymouth; Charlie (Janice), Bowden, Alt; James (Gwen), Caledonia; 23 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband, Pearly Brittain; son, Basil Brittain; son Henry Brittain in infancy; sisters, Mary, Betty, Nellie and brother, Chester. Visitation will be 7-9, Wednesday June 14 from New Tusket Baptist Church also where the funeral service will be held at 3pm, Thursday June 15. Pastor Quincy Collins will preside with Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Hwy #340 with reception to follow in the church hall.
