Jenny Lind Dickinson

DICKINSON, Jenny, Lind – Age 94, Passed away June 14th, 2014 in Digby General Hospital. Born in New Tusket she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Ina (Sabean) Mullen. Jenny completed her nurses training at Newton Hospital, she was a U.S. Army Nurseand 1st Lieut. during WWII, she worked for The Gillette Safety Razor Co. as an Industrial Nurse, was a head nurse at Hahnemann Hospital, Brighton, Mass. Jenny moved home to N.S. in 1965 to take care of her parents. She was the oldest living member of the New Tusket Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making quilts and hooked mats, gardening and crossword puzzles. Jenny is survived by her son, Martin (Cindy) Outhouse, Williams Lake, B.C., grandchildren, Griffin, Faith, Grace and Paige; sister, Daphne Blenkhorn, Gilberts Cove; several nieces and nephews. Jenny was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Dickinson, sisters, Garnetta Marr, Frances Mullen; brothers, Theodore, Clyde and Robert. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Thursday, June 19th from Jayne’s Funeral Home, #5114, Hwy 1 Weymouth (245-2525). Funeral Service will be 2pm Friday from New Tusket Baptist Church.
