

Sullivan, Oakley Myles – Age 54 of Weymouth Mills, passed away October 20th, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Born in Hassett, he was a son of Colonel Sullivan of Riverdale and the late Dorothy (Brittain) Sullivan. In his younger years Oakley was athletic, he participated in golf, tennis and track and field. He loved people and he loved his job as a crew cook on the Princess of Acadia, he referred to his co-workers as his second family. Prior to Princess of Acadia he worked on the Bluenose in Yarmouth. Oakley will be greatly missed by all his family. Besides his father, he is survived by brother, John (Josephine) Sullivan, Hilltown; sisters, Juanita (Lovett) Bremner, Digby; Maurina Haight, Acaciaville; Marion (Melvin) Manzer, Southville; Betty Sullivan, North Range; Flora (Stanley) Robicheau, Digby; Beat (Edward) Melanson, Plympton; Sheila (Betty Crouse) Sullivan, Hassett; Della (Larry) Amero, Plympton; Wanda Gaudett, Southville; many nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, Oakley was predeceased by brother, Mike Sullivan and siblings in infancy, Freeman, Stanley and Judy. Visitation 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Thursday October 24th from Jayne’s Funeral Home, #5114 Hwy 1, Weymouth North (245-2525). Funeral Service at 2pm, Friday from Havelock Wesleyan Church. Pastor Tracy Marr will preside with interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Havelock. Donations in memory of Oakley may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
