

Ruth Amelia Mullen – Age 78 of Easton, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, November 24, 2017. Born June 14, 1939 in Easton she was a daughter of the late Harold Chalton and Elsie Lee Mullen. Ruth was a dedicated Christian and member of Havelock Wesleyan Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was well known for her excellent quilting and cooking skills. Many of her quilts were purchased by tourists throughout Canada and USA. Ruth and her brother, Ronald cared for their mother until her passing in 1977. She worked at a motel in Banff, Alberta and as a cook at Admiral Inn, Digby. She finished her working career as a valuable employee at Hillsdale Fur Farm. She often spoke fondly of those years. Her and her brother Ronald’s home was a favorite visiting spot for family. Many nieces and nephews remember her as a second mother. In her last years, Ruth received excellent care in the home of Larry and Geneva Sabine. Ruth is survived by brothers, Harry Mullen, Easton; Ronald Mullen, Easton; sisters, Stella Mullen, Easton; Gladys Montgomery, Missouri, USA and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Walter Mullen, Cecil Mullen, Edgar Mullen, Robert Mullen; sisters, Clara (Mullen) Thibideau, Dorothy (Mullen) Sabean, Shirley Mullen in infancy and nephew, Harold Thibideau. Visitation 7-9pm, Monday November 27th at Jayne’s Funeral Home-Weymouth North. Funeral Service will be 2pm, Tuesday November 28th with Pastor Shawn Craven presiding.
