
John was a native of Anahuac, Texas and former resident of Grand Isle, LA he passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015. He was 60 and a current resident of White Castle. He was a retired Crew Boat Captain and the owner/manager of Daigle’s Supermarket in White Castle. Johnny was a graduate of South LaFouche High School and after graduating he obtained his maritime captain’s license. He enjoyed working in his yard and raising chickens, ducks and geese. He had a love for animals and will be missed by his faithful companion Hooch.
He is survived by his wife of 6 1/2 years, Cornelia Ledet McAuley; 2 sisters, Teri McAuley Howard and husband, Jon and Toni McAuley Daigle and husband, Randy; brother, Lowell “Pete” McAuley; 3 nieces, Juli Maniscalco, Ginny Leonard, and Tami Cheramie; and 4 nephews, Randy Daigle, Jr., Roy Howard, Christopher Daigle, and Scott McAuley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh “Mac” and Maurine Scott McAuley; grandparents, John and Willie McAuley, Douglas Scott and Elizabeth Davis Osborn; and a nephew, Jon Howard, Jr.
Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, White Castle on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 8 am until 9 am. Graveside services will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Chackbay at 10 am.
