

Mercedes “Dee” Eskine Landry, a longtime resident of White Castle, died the 14th of July at home. Dee was born January 6, 1931. She was married to her best friend Jack, the love of her life, for 65 years.
Her happiest days were spent with her children and grandchildren who will always remember those Sunday lunch discussions. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 212 and the White Castle Lions Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Juliette Ayo Eskine and her sister Golden Mae Eskine. She is survived by her husband, Loles “Jack” Landry, her sons; Ernest “Ernie” Landry and wife, Laura, and Wayne Landry; three grandchildren, Adam, Clay and Chelsea Landry.
Visitation will be held on July 18th at 9:00 am with an 11:00 funeral mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in White Castle. Father Joey Angeles will be performing the funeral mass. Interment will follow at the White Castle Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Ernie Landry, Adam Landry, Clay Landry, Blye Allen, Todd Chauvin and Ronnie Davis.
