

Mildred L. Carbo, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend too many, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with her children and family by her side. She was born on September 12, 1924, a native and resident of White Castle. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, attending lunch at the Council on Aging, playing bingo, and going to church. She was a retired Lab Chemist for the sugar house. She is survived by her sons, Curtis and wife, Mona Carbo of Bayou Pigeon, Randy and wife, Brenda Carbo of White Castle; daughters, Meryl and husband, Lonnie Jumonville of White Castle, and Ellen and husband, Gary Ourso of White Castle; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Landry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis J Carbo; parents, Christophe and Aurelia LeGrande; brothers, JC LeGrande, Earl “Joe” LeGrande; sisters, Eldora Fonsecca; granddaughters Amy Ourso and Brooklyn Landry. Pallbearers will be: Chad Jumonville, Joshua “Snoopy” Carbo, Christpher Carbo, Daniel Carbo, Brian Ourso and Clint Ourso. Honorary pallbearers will be: Taylor Carbo, Josh Carbo, Hunter Settoon, Michael Verret, Matthew Verret, Eric Leonard, and Grant Jumonville. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Paul Yi at 11:30 am.
