Cathy A. Conroy

Cathy A. Conroy, 68, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Whiting Gardens in Whiting, NJ. Cathy was born in California to a military family, which afforded the opportunity to travel to places such as Japan, Hawaii, and Texas. Her parents ended up settling in New Jersey with Cathy and her four siblings to whom she was very close. As a young woman in New Jersey, she met her husband John, and from there, they settled in Delaware years later with their children.

In addition to raising their children, Cathy worked as a Nurse’s Aid at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna, DE. She enjoyed life and all that life had to offer. Above all she enjoyed being a wife, and mother to her five kids along with being a fun, loving grandmother. She loved socializing and talking to new and different people along with learning and sharing new and past experiences. Cathy was well known for her sense of humor, and prided herself on making people laugh. Her favorite pastimes were taking walks and reading historical novels. On a spiritual note, faith was important in Cathy’s life. She stood by her personal belief and her relationship with God.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Herbert & Margaret Genne; her husband, John; and her brother, Billy Genne. She is survived by her sisters Barbara, Mary Beth, and Patricia along with her children— Kevin, Scott, Matt, Tricia, and Emily— and her grandchildren: Claire, Adriana, Lily, Hannah, and Daniel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 3:00-7:00pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm at the funeral home. Burial at Whiting Memorial Park in Whiting, NJ will be private.
