

Helen was born on February 10,1948 in Heidelberg, Germany to Henry and Dorothy Hafelfinger. The family moved to New Jersey when Helen was very young. Helen and her beloved younger brother, Hank "Joe" Hafelfinger grew up in Union City.
Helen had 3 children, Robyn, Steven, and Kelly and the family moved to Bayville in the early 1970s. She was fortunate enough to meet her beloved Husband, Nicholas Luken years later. They moved to Whiting.
Helen loved to shop. Every weekend Helen and Nick would jump in the car and take little road trips to Delicious Orchards and Sears. Helen adored cats and dogs and had many pets over the years. But most of all she loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. And she loved any excuse to throw a holiday party or barbecue.
Helen is predeceased by both of her parents, Henry and Dorothy Hafelfinger and by her beloved husband, Nicholas Luken. And by her son, Steven Johnson and son in law, Ronald Ables Her brother, Hank "Joe" Hafelfinger, his wife, Maureen, deceased, and her 2 favorite nieces, Rebecca and Brianna will miss her very much. Helen's daughters, Robyn Ables and Kelly Smith, along with her son in law, Shawn Smith, are heartbroken over the loss of their mother. Holidays will never be the same without their Mom. Helen also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Stephanie, Thomas, Amanda, Samantha, Cody, Shane, David, Victoria and Gabi. And 9 great grandchildren, Isabella, Molly, Kasey, Veronica, Trevor, Vivian, Ryker, Amelia and Koda Wyatt.
Visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759, on March 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
