Kathryn E. Whitt

Kathy was the devoted wife of Timothy B. Whitt and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Tim; her children George M. Dutcher (wife Heather), Kevin M. Dutcher, Tiffany M. Whitt Adams (husband Christopher), and Todd M. Whitt (partner Kate), her sisters Carol A. Chiccarine (husband David) and Bette L. FitzPatrick (husband Brian); and her cherished grandchildren Dalton, Jillian, Madeline, Lily, Violet, Juliet, and Lucas, who were the great joy of her life.

She was preceded in her death by her parents Robert S. Hoover and Nancy E. Hoover.

Kathy graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1971 and continued her education at Kutztown University, graduating in 1973. Early in her career, she worked in retail before moving into the auto and commercial leasing industry. Her entrepreneurial spirit eventually led her to open and operate her own state-licensed daycare in Muhlenberg, Pennsylvania which she ran with dedication and love for 30 years. To over 100 children and their families, she was more than a caregiver—she was a steady, nurturing presence who helped shape young lives.

After retiring, Kathy and Tim relocated to Whiting, New Jersey, where they embraced their golden years together. Kathy quickly became deeply involved in her new community, forming many meaningful friendships through her neighborhood, church, and swimming aerobics classes. Her kindness, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others made her a beloved part of every group she joined.

Kathy will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, and her lifelong commitment to caring for others. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.

A visitation will be at Proving Ground Church, located at 1 Proving Ground Rd, Lakehurst, NJ 08733, on December 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
