Marguerite Briley

Marguerite “Peggy” Flynn Briley, 90, of Whiting, New Jersey, made her journey home to the Creator on December 17, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, love, compassion, steadfast devotion to her family and faith.

Born on February 23, 1935, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Peggy was the daughter of the late Ralph D Flynn and Edna M Lambert. She grew up with her sister, the late Anna M Flynn Krack, with whom she shared a close bond. After graduating from Red Bank Catholic School in 1953, Peggy had a career as an Executive Secretary at Frank C Gibson Inc. She married the late Charles Glenn Briley and had five children.

She was predeceased by her mother Edna M Lambert, her father Ralph D Flynn, her ex-husband Charles Glenn Briley, her sister Anna M Krack, and granddaughter Lisa Briley. Peggy is survived by her five children Kenny Briley, Glenn Briley (Patti), Lori Briley, Kathleen Briley (Thomas Cowling), John Briley (Cindy) and grandchildren Melissa, Kenny, Jamie, Sarah, Jennifer, Tommy, and Alicia. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:45am from the the All Saints Chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting, NJ.
