Born on February 8, 1957, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, New York, Michael lived in New York until the age of four, when his family moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1961. Around the age of 13, the family relocated to South Jersey — “the Shore,” as it is lovingly known — where Mike spent the remainder of his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Infantino; his father, Peter Joseph Terry; and his stepfather, William McCroy.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Teresa; his son, Michael McCroy and his wife Taylor of Monroeville, New Jersey; his brothers, Peter J. Terry and Richard McCroy, his wife Gina and their daughter Rosemarie; and his sisters, Patricia Bell and Victoria Flaherty.
Michael proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
Mike was often described as a walking encyclopedia — he knew a little about a lot of things and was always willing to share his knowledge. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing tennis. A true computer whiz, he was incredibly savvy and continuously expanded his knowledge over the years.
He had a deep love for music and maintained an extensive “old school” collection of CDs, vinyl records, 45s, and albums. His movie collection was equally impressive, spanning decades of film.
A hardworking and detail-oriented man, Mike believed in doing things right the first time. He took great pride in meeting his responsibilities and caring for those he loved — including his beloved dogs.
He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Committal Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2026 at 11:30am at The Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
