

Robert Francis Haraz, Sr., 82, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully Thursday, July 9, 2015 at home surrounded by family. He was a Store Keeper at DuPont in Parlin for 35 years, where he also served as president of ICWU Local 527, also in Parlin, retiring in 1985. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was always very active serving the American Legion for 34 years, as Commander of Post 224 in Cherry Lake, FL., and Sgt at Arms of Post 502 in Whiting. He was the president of the “Lakeside Gardeners” in Cedar Glen Lakes and president of the “Petals & Palms” Garden Club in Barefoot Bay, FL. Robert was a Communicant of St Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting. Born in Spotswood, he resided there most of his life before retiring and splitting time between Barefoot Bay, FL., and New Egypt, coming to Whiting in 2007. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise nee Bendy, and his children, daughter Terry Valin, and his sons, Robert F. Jr., & his wife Genevieve, Edward & his wife Eileen, and Mark Haraz. Also surviving are a sister, Florence Biacindo, a sister in law, Catherine Haraz, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. A Memorial Gathering and Service will be Friday, July 17, from 1-5 with Services beginning at 4pm from the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ 08759. Committal was private.
