Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Robert spent much of his life in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, before settling in Whiting. He proudly served in the United States Army and had a long career as an ironworker with American Bridge and the United States Steel Corporation.
Known for his gentle spirit and kindness, Robert touched many lives. He loved the outdoors, golf, and cherished time with family. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Ilene Nemeth; daughters, Charlene Bergmaier and Erica Nemeth-Sutton; granddaughters, Rebecca Bergmaier, Alexa Bergmaier, and Grace Sutton; and son-in-law, Frank Bergmaier. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dave Sutton. In addition, he was blessed with a loving extended family and many cherished friends.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered
