

Ruth A. Caronia-Biche, 89, of Whiting, passed away Monday at The Pines at Whiting. Ruth was born in Brookline, MA. and was raised in Wollaston, MA. After getting married she moved to New Providence and than Manahawkin, before moving to the Pines at Whiting in 2009. Ruth worked as a secretary for US Steel in Boston, and later with Lumitron Corp. in Summit. She was a veteran in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II and Korea and served in the Reserves. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church in New Providence, and their Rosary Altar Society. A member of St. Francis of Assissi Church in Brant Beach.
Ruth is predeceased by her two husbands Peter J. Caronia Jr. in 1978 and Frank C. Biche in 2001. Surviving are her four children and their spouses, Mary Ellen and Henry Klaas of Manahawkin, Paul J. and Cynthia Caronia of Annandale, John P. and Angela Caronia of Hamilton Twp., and Joseph A. and Jane Caronia of Bethlehem Twp., PA., a brother Rev. Albert McMahon OFM of Catskill, NY., a sister Regina McMahon of Wollaston, MA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service for Ruth on Friday at 1 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to: the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society.
