Sally’s love of travelling started in the 1970’s when she spent time in Spain. Sally found another love in Spain, her husband. Sally taught Spanish to the English speakers stationed at the Zaragoza Air Force Base. Jim was one of Sally’s students and although he did not ace the class, he continued to learn Spanish from her during their 47 years together. Sally’s last trip to Spain was to celebrate her 45th wedding anniversary where she reminisced about her past experiences with her family.
As a Spanish teacher at South Brunswick High School, Sally set off on many world travels with her students, travelling to various parts of Europe and South America. Experiencing these places and sharing them with her students brought her immense joy. In retirement, Sally enjoyed supporting her community as a volunteer librarian.
Sally graduated from Moravian College and University of Navarro in Pamplona, Spain. Later she received her master’s degree from Marygrove College.
Sally loved her family and her friends. She would offer to help them even when her body was failing. She was always proud of her children and cherished them both.
She is survived by her husband James Rebhorn of Whiting, NJ; her daughter Julie and her husband William Trammell of Kendall Park, NJ; her son Keith Rebhorn and his wife Emily Chumas of Hamden, CT; her sister Jane Loupos and husband George of Bath, PA; and cousins, nieces and nephews. She has also remained close to her dear friends in Spain, Carlos Calvo and Javier Peňa.
