Susan C Marshall

Susan C. Marshall, 77, of Whiting, NJ passed away, at home, on April 1st, 2023. She was born on October 15, 1945, in Westmoreland, KS to Paul and Elizabeth Southerland. She was proud to be a farmgirl from Kansas.

Susan was a retired nurse who worked primarily in psychiatric nursing and for women’s health. She was a lover of animals, basketball, chocolate, and Elvis. She never met a baby she didn’t want to cuddle. She was silly and had an onery streak, which those close to her were lucky enough to witness. She enjoyed volunteering at her church, and as a child of God, she looked forward to checking in on her family from heaven. She was a beloved sister, mother and Grammie who showed her love for her family every day.

Susan leaves behind her daughters, Michelle Marshall and Kimberlie Dawson, son-in-law, David Dawson and two grandchildren, along with her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Deb Southerland and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be planned in the future. Susan dreamed of having a farm where she could take in all lost or hurt animals. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any organization that helps animals. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
