He was born in Jersey City, NJ December 27, 1932. Vincent was the second oldest of four boys. His mother passed away when he was 12 years old. One can only imagine how this must have impacted his life. He often shared how he had to sell newspapers in the mornings before going to school.
He loved to swim, was an avid swimmer and was a member of his High School swim team. He worked at the city pool as a life guard, saving 12 near drowning victims. This love for the water continued as he followed his calling to serve his country in the Navy. His service to his country not only allowed him the opportunity to travel but to learn a trade as an electrician. Travel, geography and history were his passion.
Vincent met and married Lois and had four children. With Lois they traveled to Florida. They traveled to California a number of times as California was one of his favorite destinations. They built a home in Pennsylvania. Another dream fulfilled for Vincent.
He worked as an electrician and provided for his family. Often times working two jobs and going to College part time nights to earn his Baccalaureate Degree. He was a brilliant teacher. He taught young and old teaching electricity, electronics and related math. Countless people have been taught a profession and can support themselves and family from his legacy.
He was blessed to have lived in Hasbrouck Heights New Jersey for many years surrounded by the love and support of Lois, her mother and her boys. Lois and Vincent moved to Whiting NJ. Together they shared many life events of their children and grandchildren both in NJ and Florida.
Vincent was a hard working man. He was not materialistic. He grew up in the depression. Saved, worked hard, never had anything bad to say about anyone and loved unconditionally. He will be missed and always in our hearts. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Association.
