

Willie B. Evans, 82, of the Whiting section of Manchester Twp., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 8, 2014 at the Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a Painting Contractor for 40 years and a member of Painters Local #694 – Neptune, for over 10 years, retiring in 1996. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was a dedicated Member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, since 1958. Born in Soso, MS., he grew up there and moved to New Jersey in 1952. He lived in Long Branch for many years, attending the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He retired to Whiting in 2002 and attended the Browns Mills Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is predeceased by his brother, Early B. Evans and son, Willie Evans, Jr. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Bettie Evans. He is also survived by his children; Winslow Evans of Blackwood, NJ., Donald Evans of Long Branch, NJ., Shirley Evans of Inglewood, CA., Bettina Evans of Kansas City, MO., Delores Brown of New York City, Willene Jones of Manchester Twp., and Phyllis Evans of Asbury Park, NJ. Willie also leaves his 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; his cousin Annabelle Oliver of Kansas City, MO., along with several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be offered on Friday, December 19 at 7pm from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 649 Lakehurst Rd. Rt 530 Browns Mills, NJ 08015
