

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2013 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Garden of Angels at Crestview Memorial Park.
Tony was born April 18, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Antonio Sr. and Jesusa (Rodriguez) Nieto. He served in the army from 1964 to 1966 in Orleans, France. Tony was known in City View for waving at all who passed by his home and he prayed for each one. He also was a chair person in one of City View’s precincts. Tony worked for the Record News, did farm work, construction, worked for the City of Wichita Falls, Ingersoll Rand and Howmet for over 20 years until his retirement. He attended chili and brisket cook-offs and was very well loved in his community. He was Santa for the neighborhood kids and his family and loved giving out candy to them all. Tony will be remembered as a loving brother and full of life, always had a joke to tell and a better way of doing things. Tony always hung up from a phone conversation with” I Love You and God Bless You”.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Louise, second wife Mary and a son; Sammy Croy.
He is survived by his children; Tonya and husband Anthony Flores of Wichita Falls, Linda and husband Luke Townsend, Billie Sue Croy and husband James, Donald Chitwood and Kenneth Chitwood all of Georgia, sisters; Margarita Nieto Luna, Lucille and husband Frank Canedo and Nancy (Nieto) and husband Leon Andrews, brother; Joe Nieto, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, 1230 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302. You can drop off donations at the funeral home during visitation.
