Bertha E. Parks, known lovingly as Marue Bell, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on February 7, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on March 13, 1935, in Wichita Falls, Texas, she lived a life dedicated to her faith, her family, and her community.
Marue’s greatest joy was serving the Lord Jesus. She was a passionate witness for Christ, leading many to salvation, teaching Sunday school, playing the piano for church, and leading Bible studies. Her love extended beyond the church walls as she faithfully visited shut-ins, and serving in various retirement residences bringing encouragement and God’s word to those in need.
Many may remember Marue helping her family at Parks Produce, as well as a caring entrepreneur reflexologist at her Rue Lee Rejuvenescence office. She was active in many areas of community volunteer & chapter services.
Marue Bell was preceded in death by her parents, G.L. and Zella Parks; her beloved husband, Kenneth Bell; and her brothers, R.C. and Robert Parks.
Marue leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael L. Bell (wife Beth) and Todd D. Bell; her cherished grandchildren, Amanda Tietsort (husband Joe), JoAnna Crew (husband Travis), and Michael Bell (wife Tcee); nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald Parks (wife Betty) and Patricia Speer (husband Bill).
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who provided care and comfort to Marue Bell in her final days, including the Lakeside City Volunteer Fire Department, Dr. G, Dr. Rivera, Dr. Tolentino Elvira, the compassionate staff of the sixth floor at United Regional Hospital, and the dedicated team at Healing Hands.
We are thankful to the Lord for the life she lived and the love she gave. Marue had a testimony of unwavering faith and selfless love. She touched countless lives, and her presence will be deeply missed.
