

Betty Jewel Rutledge, 85, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Pursley officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rutledge was born November 8, 1928 in Wewoka, OK to the late Clarence Bailey and Iva (Van Meter) Bailey. She married Johnny Alvin Rutledge on November 2, 1944 in Ardmore, OK. where they lived until moving to Wichita Falls in 1958. Betty was a member of Faith Baptist Church here. She was a homemaker raising their three children. She enjoyed painting and shopping, spending time with family and her weekly lunch dates with her friend Ruby.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Johnny Rutledge; brothers, Carlos, J. T. and Clyde Ray; sisters, Louise Rainey and Claudette Graves.
She is survived by her children, William Rutledge and wife Kacy of Wichita Falls, Randy Rutledge and wife Dawn also of Wichita Falls and Kathy and Phill Lubrano of Forth Worth, TX; sister, Lillian Coe of Ardmore, OK; lifelong friend, Ruby Bigbee; grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew and Joseph Lubrano, Michaela and Clay Rutledge, Erika and Travis Rutledge and Shannon Hopkins; great grandchildren Grace, Bryan and Andrew.
The family wishes to offer special thanks to IntegraCare nurses, Malora and J. J. along with aides, Brandy and Clarissa.
