

Bill Speer was born, Billy Merle Speer in Gainesville Texas,January 18, 1940. His parents, preceded him in death, Marvin and Ida Lee Mabry Speer. He is also preceded in death, Carter Brown, his great grandson.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Parks Speer married August 20, 1960. They were together over 64 years, a beautiful love story indeed. He was also survived by his sister, Shirley G Speer, son, Stephen Speer, daughter, Sharla Speer Racioppa and fiancé, Steven Hill, son, Brian Speer / Chris Maxwell. Chosen family member Matthew West. Granddaughter, Kimberly Brown and spouse, Cory Brown, granddaughter, Kylee Bowen and spouse, Colton Bowen, and three great grandchildren , KC, Kennedy and Caleb and one great great granddaughter Karter Raye.
Bill worked for many years at Huff Furniture Gallery of Wichita Falls and later in life helped the family business for many years GL Parks Produce company.
Bill was the choir Director for many years and taught Sunday school and served as Deacon of Bible Baptist Church under Pastor David Bryant and led singing at church under Pastor Charles Bartlett. In 1997, he became one of the founding members of Anchor Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, TX.
He was known for his love of playing guitar and singing bass in his own southern gospel quartet, with his lifelong friends, Rex Donnelly and Charles Bartlett, along with his wife, Patricia, playing and singing piano.
He loved working with wood and was a self-taught carpenter and master craftsman and was known around town for always being the go to guy for fixing problems and remodeling for other people. He will always be remembered for his love of his family and friends and was very proud of his grandkids. He will always be remembered for picking up a guitar and singing his favorite songs.
