Billie Knox

Billie Knox, age 89, went home to the lord on Saturday April 16, 2022. He was born in Central Arkansas on May 6, 1932. He grew up in Arkansas until his family moved to California. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Jean Knox, and his daughter Kathy Ann Cross. He also has two stepchildren from Dorothy’s first marriage, Carol Beckwith, and Larry Howard. Billie has always been a dependable and hard worker, working at a lemon packing house in Santa Paula, California and later as a maintenance and all-around fixer for the Hospital in Santa Paula. He left employment at the Hospital after a debilitating fall that forced him into early retirement.

Bill was baptized at First Baptist Church in Oxnard California and was active in his church many years. He was a user and activated member of his bible study group. After his wife retired, they moved to Apple Valley, California . In Apple Valley, Bill was active in the Apple Valley Baptist church where he was an active member of his Sunday School class. While in Apple Valley, he became active in AARP and was a member of the executive board. He loved helping others and being involved in his community. They lived in Apple Valley for 15 years where he took care of his lovely wife Dorothy age 97 until it became too much for him alone and they moved to Texas to live with his Daughter and her Husband.

Billie is survived by his wife Dorothy, Daughter Kathy, Daughter Carol, Son Larry, and Grandchildren Sherry, Jackie, April, Belinda, and Chris. He has many great-grandchildren as well.
