

Billy Wayne Crawford, Sr., longtime resident of Wichita Falls passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2015 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Reverend James Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Crawford was born July 27, 1937 in Terrell, Oklahoma to the late Henry and Nobie Grace (Johnson) Crawford. He graduated from Terrell High School, class of 1956, where he was a four year letterman in baseball. After graduation, he went on to serve in the U. S. Army, 49th Armored Division, until 1965. He married Nelda Morris February 10, 1963 here in Wichita Falls. Billy had several jobs before beginning his career at Certainteed where he retired as a Production Supervisor after 32 years of service. Billy was an accomplished musician and was well known for his love of country music. Anyone from this area, and familiar with country music during his time knew who Billy Crawford was.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, J. W. Crawford; a sister, Ann Duncan.
Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Nelda Crawford; sister, Mary Reynolds of Kermit, TX.; children, Billy Crawford, Randy Crawford and wife Jaynie, all of Wichita Falls, Ed Crawford and wife Tanga of Arkansas and Joe Crawford and Michael of Greenville, TX; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
