Born on July 31, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, Carole lived a life grounded in love, devotion, and faith. For many cherished years, she made her home on the ranch in Windthorst, Texas, where she built a life full of family memories alongside her beloved husband. Following his passing, she resided in Northlake, Texas, remaining close to the family she loved so dearly.
Carole was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She found happiness in the simple but meaningful moments — family gatherings, conversations around the table, and watching her children and grandchildren grow. Her family was her heart, and she poured herself into them completely.
She is survived by her father, Don Richey; her children, Mandy Hibbard and spouse Glen Hibbard, Tammi Bradley and fiancé Tim Casey, Amber Whisenhunt and spouse Don Whisenhunt, and James Richey and spouse Lisa Richey; her stepchildren, Chelsea Gonzalez and spouse Issac Gonzalez, Steven Word and spouse Dessie Word; and her beloved best friend, Karen Dikes. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Maggie, whose loyal companionship brought her comfort, joy, and unconditional love.
She was a proud grandmother to Caitlin McCreary, Ashlyn McCreary, Colin McCreary, Nolan McCreary, Bryce Bradley, Slade Bradley, Kaylee James, Aiden Hopkins, Brynlee Hopkins, Braelyn Hopkins, Kinley Whisenhunt, Delilah Richey, Ryan Whisenhunt, Brooklyn Whisenhunt, Bailey Whisenhunt, Jackson Whisenhunt, and Nathaniel Gonzalez. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Greyson and Kayson McCreary.
Carole was preceded in death by her mother, Jan Richey; her beloved spouse, JP Word; and her brother, Floyd Allen Richey.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Christ. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her love, her faith, and her legacy will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and joyfully remembered until the day her family is reunited with her again.
