She was born in El Paso, Texas in 1956, to Leonard D. Hendon Sr. and Charlotte M. Hendon. Cynthia attended Irvin High School before joining the United States Air Force, then worked for Xerox as a technician for 17 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents Leonard D. Hendon Sr. and Charlotte M. Hendon.
She is survived by her daughter Charlotte M. Hawkey, son-in-law Patrick Hawkey, her grandchildren Michael (Haeleah) West, Blake and Ethan Hawkey, her brother Leonard D. Hendon Jr., sister Catherine Hendon, and countless nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Sunday March 8th. Funeral will be held at 10 am Monday March 9th, both at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, at 1917 Archer City Hwy in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside service will be held at Fort Worth National Cemetery on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 9:30 am.
