

Cynthia (Cindy) was born to Anthony D. Smith Sr. & Frances L. Smith in Waco, Texas September 26, 1959, and passed away September 5, 2025. She is survived by her beloved French Bulldog “Merrily”, siblings Anthony Smith Jr., and Susan Murphy (Lamar) of Wichita Falls, Texas and her Uncle Michael F. Smith and special family friend Karl Hamlin both of Ball Ground, Georgia.
Cindy graduated from John Hirschi High School in 1978 and furthered her education completing Cosmetology School and explored EMT classes.
Through her friendship with Elanie Ennis, Cindy found her calling as a Dog Groomer. She was a groomer at Berend Brothers until medically retiring in 2005.
Cindy had a love for dogs her entire life and had a special way with animals since she was a child. In 1991, “Katie Sings the Blues CD”, the beloved basset hound came into her life and began Cindy’s passion for training dogs. To many people’s amazement, Cindy Titled her Basset Hound in Obedience and participated in Agility Trials with Katie. After Katie passed, Cindy trained and titled two more dogs, “Grey Dawn’s Xanthene Sunset CDX” (Xandy, Labrador Retriever) and “Totally Preoccupied at Seif Dune BN RN CGC” (Merrily, French Bulldog).
Cindy was a member of “The Obedience Training Club of Wichita Falls” since 1991 where she enjoyed teaching owners how to train their dogs in obedience. Cindy also assisted with Agility Training in 4-H, helping bring the sport to Wichita Falls. She was a former member of “Faith City Kennel Club” and a member of “The American Kennel Club” and had expert knowledge of Breed Standards.
Cindy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and attended First Baptist Church Wichita Falls via televised services.
