May 12, 1931 – June 24, 2025
Dorothy Faye Mann (Lucas), age 94, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 24, 2025, in her hometown of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Born on May 12, 1931, in Rural Clay County, Texas, Dorothy was a lifelong member of the community and a beloved presence in the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and to helping others through her work in banking and sales. A passionate and generous spirit, Dorothy had a special gift for making friends wherever she went. She loved spending time with her beloved pet, Bobo, who gave her such joy and comfort.
Dorothy was a vibrant, elegant woman—sweet, gentle, and full of kindness. She found joy in the little things: being pampered with her regular hair and nail appointments and most of all, spending time with her large and loving family. She was proud beyond measure of her six children, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of Encounter Church in Wichita Falls, where her faith and community were essential to her life.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Gary Broyles and his wife Jo Lynn, Susie Thompson, Deborah Smith, Patricia Harrod, David Lavine and his wife Sandy, and Daniel Lavine and his wife Terri. She is also survived by her brother Troy Lucas, her 15 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Mann, her brother Lloyd Lucas, her sister, Lillie Land, her mother, Lela Chaney and her father, Floyd A. Lucas.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview in Wichita Falls at her gravesite.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Hospice of Wichita Falls, whose care and compassion were deeply appreciated.
