
Earl E. Yeager, 93, of Wichita Falls died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at a hospice facility in Wichita Falls. A memorial service has been planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2011 at Floral Heights United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Merwin Turner and Reverend David Turner and directed by Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Earl was born August 24, 1917 in Mauckport, Indiana to Ed and Minnie Hottle Yeager. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during WWII and the Korean War retiring with 20 years service. He married Gretchen Louise Meyer January 5, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska and together they raised three children. As a military man they lived in many places including Okinawa, Japan and Michigan before retiring in Wichita Falls. He was a member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church. When his children were young he loved to take them hunting and fishing. After retiring, he and Gretchen enjoyed RV traveling all over the United States for 20 years.
Mr. Yeager is preceded in death by his son, Earl Yeager in 2007; two sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Gretchen Yeager; daughter, Barbara Kaiser of Portland, OR; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Suzanne Yeager of Gainesville, TX; three grandchildren, Lauren Yeager, Ryan Yeager, and Austin Yeager.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Floral Heights United Methodist Church.
