Following WWll, Evelyn married Merle E. Timblin on October 27, 1945, in Luthersburg. They then moved to Niagara Falls, New York. Here she began work as a bank accounting secretary. Additionally, Evelyn began to serve as organist for the churches they attended. This service continued for a period of over 70 years. She and Merle then moved to the Ft. Worth area where Evelyn continued to work in accounting for Briggs-Weaver. Merle passed away in 2017 and Evelyn moved to Wichita Falls to be closer to family.
Evelyn was known to family and friends as a great cook serving up feasts at holidays and family events. She was especially known for her broccoli salad, whose recipe was a well-kept secret. And her grandchildren could also count on an ice cream sundae at every visit.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Carol (Douglas) English of Wichita Falls, and Melissa Fritz of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan English, Bryan Schmidt and Heather Michelle and Shannon Fritz. Additionally, there are six great grandchildren.
All who knew Evelyn know that she lived for God and her family. The family is extremely appreciative of Hospice of Wichita Falls for the care provided Evelyn.
