Over her 96 years on earth Iona accumulated a wealth of experiences. She witnessed great progress on many fronts and likewise experienced many of the world's struggles. From the Great Depression of her early childhood to a world war in her teenage years to enduring a worldwide pandemic in her final years, Iona has persevered with rock-solid steadiness.
Through all times, both good and bad, Iona has lived a life of integrity and has been a shining example to those around her. Iona graduated from the University of Houston where she met her first husband, Don Moore. She taught computers at Sheppard Air Force Base for over 30 years and seldom ever missed a day of work. Her family and her friends were her greatest treasures. Though she loved children, Iona was never blessed to have any of her own.
Iona is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families. Her fond memory and the lessons she has taught us through her example will be with us always. Until we meet again!
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 10:00 AM, in the Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, TX.
