

James E. Ladyman, 93, longtime resident of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Crestview Memorial Park, Cross West Section, with Brother Tommy Bragg of First Baptist Church of Lakeside City officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 Wednesday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Mr. Ladyman was born June 21, 1920 in Red River County, Texas to the late James Ladyman, Sr. and Kathleen (Fry) Ladyman. He married Mary L. Barrett in Paris, Texas on August 24, 1942 celebrating over 71 years together. He was a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Lakeside City. Mr. Ladyman retired from Midwestern State University as Foreman of the paint shop in 1982, serving over 30 years there. He was a member of the Classic Chevy Club and restored 1957 Chevys with his boys. James loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden. If he could kill it, catch it or grow it, Mary could cook it. James looked out the window one day and saw that he couldn’t go hunting, so he decided to just go on to his home in Heaven.
Mr. Ladyman was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Wendy Thomas in 2012; sisters, Helen Flint and Lorraine Castro and a brother, Van Ladyman.
Survivors are his loving wife, Mary L. Ladyman; children, Jerry Edward Ladyman, Bobby J. Ladyman and Susan Van Huss and their spouses, all of Wichita Falls; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; nephews, Jeff Haskins of Wichita Falls and James David Isbell and spouse of DeKalb, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lakeside City, TX., 3384 State Hwy. 79 South, Wichita Falls, 76310 or to the Holliday Community Senior Citizens Center, 201 N. Walnut, Holliday, TX, 76366.
