Jo Anne Strother, 78, of Wichita Falls passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bob McCartney officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:00 Sunday at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Strother was born on March 13, 1934 in Wichita Falls to the late Charlie and Ruth (Nabors) Huggins and was a lifetime resident here. She graduated from Wichita Falls Senior High School in 1952. She and Hal Strother were married on August 8, 1953 in Wichita Falls. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls and was a member of the Joy Sunday Class. Jo Anne was an avid bridge player, enjoyed traveling, loved to deer hunt and especially loved her family and her church.
Survivors include her husband, Hal Strother; daughter, Karol Mathews and husband, Dustan; son, Barry Strother, all of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Jamon Mathews and wife, Kelly of Midlothian, TX, Jessica Jacobs and husband, Jared of Wichita Falls and Noah Mathews of Wichita Falls; great grandchildren, Rilee and Reese Mathews and Jamison and Julianne Jacobs.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, 1200 Ninth St., 76301.
