

On November 18th, 1982, John married the love of his life, Stacye Jeanene Ondricek. For 42 years they walked through life as best friends, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Even after four decades, their love for one another never faded.
John and Stacye raised two daughters, Amber Jene’ Heck and Heather Le Sloan, who were his greatest pride and joy. He was deeply proud of their accomplishments and worked tirelessly to support his three girls, ensuring his wife and daughters could pursue their education and dreams.
Family was central to John’s life, and becoming a grandfather was one of his greatest joys. His grandson, Harrison, held a special place in his heart. He was proud to be known as “Pops” and delighted in watching Harrison grow. He also treasured sharing a walk or nap with his grand-dogs, Zelda and Huxley.
In the 70s and 80s, John raced Texas Motocross at tracks like Oak Hill, Mosier Valley, and Lake Whitney. He was a talented rider and is remembered fondly in the motocross community.
A skilled carpenter and tradesman for more than 50 years, John was well known for his craftsmanship and ingenuity. His work can be found in countless homes and businesses across North Texas, along with the many relationships he built. John never met a stranger. His outgoing nature and humor made everyone feel like a friend from the very first conversation.
John had a heart for people. He was a thoughtful and generous man, always willing to lend a hand or share his knowledge. He cherished time with family and friends, and was always ready with a joke or a good story. John had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and wanted.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, whose steady presence and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife, Stacye Ondricek, parents, John and Ruth Ondricek, sister, Angelan Cobb, children, Amber Heck (husband Michael Heck) and Heather Sloan (husband Michael Sloan), and grandson, Harrison Heck. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Lillie Ondricek, Wilmer Gleghorn, and Martha Christopher, great-aunt Flora Cole, and mother-in-law Jeanene Collier.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3rd at 2:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home on 1917 Archer City Hwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76302.
John’s legacy will live on through the love he gave, the lessons he shared, and the many lives he touched. His memory will be cherished and carried forward by all who knew him.
