Charlie was born August 5,1955 to LaCharles and Jo Ann Perkins in Temple, Texas. Our "Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind". He lived a life full of working, enjoying family, listening to some country music with and ice cold beer in hand, and making sure to never know a stranger. Charlie loved his dad fiercely and they had a bond that was unmatched. He has spent many of days longing for their reunion. Working side by side painting with his Dad, along with his brother, Greg, they were a force to be reckoned with. Before his many years in the painting industry, Charlie worked for Dr. Pepper for 10 years and also prided himself at becoming a Mason through Faith Lodge No. 1158. Despite the constant changes in life, one thing never changed, Charlie always made a visit to his Mom every morning to deliver her morning coffee and the daily newspaper. Charlie was an ornery man who loved to talk. It didn't matter who you were, or where you were at, he always had time to shoot the breeze.
Charlie is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Perkins; his brother, Greg Perkins; his devoted wife of 49 years, Diana Perkins; his daughter Shelly Thonton, and her husband, Wade Thonton; his son Cody Perkins; his son Michael Perkins, and his wife, Shelbie Perkins. Charlie's greatest joy was being "Papa" to his grandbabies and solo great grandbaby: Ashtin, Bryleigh, Nikoli, and Kobi.
Charlie is proceeded in death by his father, LaCharles Perkins Sr.
Arrangements for services are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls and Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center
