Loretta was blessed with many great grandchildren Emma, Kaden and Karlee Barnes; Noah and Sophia Taylor; Benjamin and Calvin Taylor; Audrey and Kaitlyn Lancaster; Korbin Taylor; and Brooklyn Gilbert and Landry Stewart; Gunner and Ryan David.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Stanley Morris Taylor and her oldest son Larry "Wayne" Taylor as well as her parents Mike and Eva Medlinger and brothers Jimmy Medlinger and Tommy Medlinger.
Loretta was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on January 12, 1924. Her family moved to Olney, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1941. Prior to marrying Stanley, she worked at Barbour Trucking Company. She became a stay at home mother for many years and returned to Barbour Trucking company where she was the office manager. Loretta's love language was gift giving as evidenced by her power shopping marathons. She blessed her family with incredible Christmas celebrations complete with life sized Nativity scenes which she and her mother, Eva, created on the lawn of her Burlington Street home. Christmas gifts overflowed when Santa magically delivered presents after children visited the Burns' light display. Loretta's creativity spilled over into gardening and flowers, crafting, painting, and decorating.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31 at 11:00 AM at the Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home followed by the burial at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park located at 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302.
Loretta's family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at House of Hope for their many years of care and compassion. Our heartfelt thanks go to Kristine Chapa for her loving care each day. We also want to thank Hospice of Wichita Falls for their many years of support and compassion for Loretta as their longest-living patient and especially for their kindness in Loretta's final days and hours.
