Maria "Lydia" Zambrano Noriega passed away August 8, 2014 in Wichita Falls, Texas, with her family by her side. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel.
Lydia was born in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 11, 1934 to the late Jesus Zambrano and Bernada Leyva. She married the love of her life, Raul Noriega, on January 5, 1958. They moved to the Wichita Falls area in 1972, where they raised their family and made a home. She was a beautiful lady who loved her family. Lydia enjoyed tending to her garden and home, cooking, and always made people feel welcome and loved. She lived a simple life and looked forward to her outings to the Senior Center and the casino. She did not long for materialistic things- As long as she was surrounded by people, she was happy. Her smile would light up the room and her laugh was music to our ears.
Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 56 years; Raul Noriega, her three sons; Raul Noriega and wife; Marybeth, of Joshua, Texas, Jose Noriega and wife; Alicia of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Ramiro Noriega and wife; Melissa of Lewisville, Texas, her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; Kayla Gutierrez, Robert Noriega, Gilbert Noriega, Daniel Noriega, Lisa Noriega, and Ayden Robertson, and her three sisters, Bertha, Angelina, and Aida.
She will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, six brothers, and her beloved daughters; Elizabeth and Arling. We will miss her dearly, but she will always in our hearts.
