Funeral Service: Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 3pm, First Presbyterian Church with the Michael Hansen and Ike Butterworth officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5a to 7pm, Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.

Sue was born in Wichita Falls to Joe and Christine Gay on Sept 9, 1937. She was raised in WF and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1955. She married the love of her life Jack Vantrease in 1959. She obtained her Bachelor Degree in Physical Education and Master Degree in Science from University of North Texas where she was an Honorary Green Jacket. She worked as a Teacher for WFISD for 33 years. She spent most of her teaching career at Zundy Jr High as the Coach and PE teacher where she touched thousands of lives and was lovingly known as Mrs/Coach V. She completed her career at Old High teaching biology. She was involved is so many organizations; Dive Club, AAUW, Criterion, Encore Choir, her Old High Class of 55 birthday group, to name a few.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Vantrease, her sister Beverly Harris and parents Joe and Christine Gay.

Sue is survived by her Sons, Mark Vantrease (Kyra) and Kirk Vantrease (Robbie); Daughter, Kristi Harkrider (Patrick); Grandchildren, Ellese Shows (Dustin), Jackie Garner, Cory Vantrease, Sydney Vantrease and Angel Asman (Ryan); Great Grandchildren, Easton Garner and Mason Asman.
