Mary Jo Walters Whatley

The Lord’s angels came for her while she was sleeping peacefully at her apartment at Brookdale Sikes Lake here in Wichita Falls,Texas. Mom was 92 years old.

She was born in Dallas,Texas on April 18,1928. She was a homemaker and caregiver .

She was the beloved mother of David (Jackie), Don “Bubba” (Vicki) and Bonnie. She was the proud grandmother to Dava Klotz (Byron) Jeff Whatley (Alicia), Damon Whatley (Amber), Amanda Whatley, Ryan Cannon.,_ Kim Francis (Derek), Kelli Wyrick (Eric), 12 great grandkids and __2 great great grandkids. and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by_her first husband Mike Whatley, the father of her three kids and her second husband J.C. Walters, three brothers Albert,Jimmy and Vernon and one sister Laverne.

Mary had placed her trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and exposed her children to Jesus early in their childhood. Mary served the Lord by teaching Sunday School .

She was like a second mother to many of the kids that grew up in the Faith Village area.

Roger Deerinwater will be officiating the private family service.

The family has stated there will not be a public service. There will be a family only service due to the COVID situation and the need for social distancing. Her service will be January 11th at Hampton Vaughn Crestview Funeral Home for anyone wanting to send flowers or plants. The family hopes you will understand the situation of family only.
