He moved to Texas in 1974 to Mexia State School then to Denton State School and finally to a group home in Wichita Falls.
Mike was a cheerful soul with a kind, compassionate spirit. His infectious smile and laugh brought sunshine to all who knew him. Mike always looked forward to his Wednesday visits from his sister Patti and especially loved his Sunday outings to her home where he enjoyed the company of his extended family including his great niece and nephew. Occasionally, Mike would get surprise visits from his sister Carol of Louisiana. It was always a special treat for him to have both sisters there with him. Mike enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas. He enjoyed singing to songs on the radio, doing puzzles, throwing balls and receiving cards in the mail.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
