

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Floral Heights United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, TX.
Born on September 17, 1935, Peggy touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering faith. She was born in Bluegrove, TX. to Pat and Lena Merle Reaves Patton. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1953 where she was a cheerleader, Miss Howdy and Annie Oakley in the Senior play. She married the love of her life, David Tate, on May 30, 1981, in Austin, Texas. She then attended Midwestern State University in 1982 and graduated Cum Laude with an Earth Science degree. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always known for her thoughtfulness, strength and fun-loving ways. Peggy shared an unbreakable bond with her family and friends, and her warmth and joy made gatherings unforgettable. She will be remembered for her compassion for others and selflessness in serving through her many volunteer opportunities, most of which involved her love of working with children. She was a longtime member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church where she was active all of her life and was a member of the 50/50 Sunday School Class there for 52 years.
Survivors include, husband, David Tate; 4 children, Cary Cupit, Jeanie Stroud and husband Rick, Gay Cupit and partner Andrea Strauss, and Jon Cupit; grandchildren, Dustin Evans and wife, Vanessa, Kristen Evans, Ian Strauss and Ari Strauss; great granddaughter, Emilia Evans.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dolly Sloan, brother, Eddie Patton, and brother, Don Patton.
