Shirley Martinez Garcia

Shirley Martinez Garcia, 71, of Dean died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her home. Services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Shawn Bitner. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

Shirley was born March 3, 1941 in Wichita Falls to Ysa and Ruth (Galindo) Martinez. She married Joe M. Garcia March 26, 1960 in Henrietta and together they raised four children. She was a seamstress at Levi Strauss for a number of years until her retirement. She was a member of the American Sewing Guild and enjoyed being with her family. Shirley will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed greatly.

Mrs. Garcia is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Joe Garcia in 2001, and her parents.

Survivors include her devoted children and their spouses, Becky and Rory Morrison, Joe and Tammy Garcia, Rose and Gabriel Garcia, James and Gloria Garcia; sisters, Mary Garcia, Gloria Lopez; brothers, Jessie Martinez, Arthur Lopez; ten grandchildren and spouses, Gabriel Garcia, Jr., Veronica and Moses Barboza, Steven David, Leticia and Greg Schneider, Eddie and Kayla Garcia, Jaymie and Dusty Cullar, Michele Garcia, Marcus Garcia, Lilianna and Joseph Garcia; and four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Gabriella, Damian, and Gregory III.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday August 31, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
